Guilford Fire Department Hires Two New Firefighters
Guilford Fire Department welcomes our two newest employees Firefighter/Paramedic Ashley Vargoshe and Firefighter/EMT Daniel Post. They recently began their Guilford Firefighting careers on Monday filling two recently vacated positions. Both firefighters are assigned to day shifts for their initial training. During this time both Ashley and Dan will be going through extensive training and review of the departments operations to prepare them for their shift assignment.
Ashley is 28 years old born and raised in Madison, CT and has been an active volunteer firefighter with North Madison and Clinton Fire Departments. Attending Capitol Paramedic Program in Hartford, CT, Ashley completed training to become a licensed Connecticut Paramedic and received medical control this October which allows her to practice para-medicine in the field. " I've always wanted to be a firefighter since joining the volunteer department and soon set my eyes on Guilford to become a career firefighter", says Ashley.
Daniel is 38 years old born and raised in Mystic, CT. Living in Mystic with his wife and three children, Daniel worked at Foxwoods Casino as a Firefighter / Captain before joining the ranks of The Guilford Fire Department. Daniel is currently attending The American Ambulance Paramedic Program in
Norwich, CT and has one month left in class. Once he finishes the program, he will begin his Paramedic field time where he is required to have a certain amount of patient contacts. " I enjoy the medical field and wanted to practice as a firefighter / paramedic. Guilford was the perfect fit as they offer the best of both worlds," says Daniel.
The Guilford Fire Department wishes both Ashley and Daniel great success with their new careers.
