GFD Members visit Metalcraft Marine in Canada

Members of the Marine division visited MetalCraft Marine in Kingston, Canada this week to meet with project managers for the purpose of building a new fireboat for The Guilford FIre Department. Captain Mike Shove, Firefighter / Paramedic Peter Beauvais, and Firefighter / Paramedic John Planas met with representatives to review plans and visit the facility where the boat will be manufactured. " The faciility where the boat will be manufactured is impressive, the craftsman working on these boats are very meticulous about their work and it shows with the end products," John Planas, one of the members that toured the production line stated. Production of the vessel is set to begin in late October and has a build time of approximately six to nine months.
